Recycling

1 Green Planet, under the guidance of PV CYCLE, is in the process of setting up and implementing recycling programs for PV waste material in South Africa under the auspices of PV CYCLE SA, a non-profit, member-based organization, offering both collective and tailor-made waste management and legal compliance services for companies, customers, and waste holders in South Africa.

Because we think that waste matters, PV CYCLE SA plans to develop a collection network that is simply closer to the consumer.

The aim is:

• for PV CYCLE SA to be a trusted partner for manufacturers, rebranders, online shops or
• importers of e-products and batteries - truly representing their needs and priorities around the topic "waste".
• to create cooperation between companies interested in PV waste management as part of their environmental commitment or after-sales service,
• to offer both collective and tailor-made waste management and legal compliance services for companies and PV waste holders in South Africa, and
• to help our customers meet their waste requirements towards tenders, scorecards, administration, investors and consumers.

Our current recommendation is to first separate the different waste treatment streams as follows:

PV-specific:

  • Lead-acid battery waste (we recommnend using existing well established recycling streams)

• Industrial waste (we recommnend using existing well established recycling streams)
• Packaging waste (we recommnend using existing well established recycling streams)
• Production scrap (we recommnend using existing well established recycling streams)
